01.02.10

As GSK announces its latest TV support for Panadol Advance Tablets, there is much to celebrate with the news that it has been voted Pain Relief Product of the Year in the prestigious Product of the Year Awards 2010 - and exceeded sales expectations.

Panadol Advance has boosted the base business by a massive 75 per cent  generating repeat rates of over 30 per cent  and has also contributed towards an overall brand value growth of 12 per cent year on year - the highest in the category.

Panadol Advance Tablets will be back on national TV on 1st February, with screenings on both terrestrial and satellite stations through to 7th March, representing a £1/2 million investment  for the first quarter. The ‘Visible Man’ TVC, which uses a real man and woman, combined with computer graphics, has been updated to highlight the Pain Relief Product of the Year 2010 win. It also demonstrates how the unique Optizorb disintegration system used in Panadol Advance disperses in the stomach up to five times faster than ordinary paracetamol  allowing the paracetamol to reach the bloodstream more quickly .

The Product of the Year Awards 2010, which are based on a survey of 10,041 people by TNS, exist to champion and reward product innovation predominantly in the FMCG sector. It is the biggest independent UK consumer survey of product innovation and a barometer of consumer opinion, which can help to give consumers a shortcut to find innovative products in the marketplace.
